Bank of England will release a very anticipated interest rate announcement on Thursday, the 14th of July, so let’s find out more.
But first, there’s the Swiss Producer Price Index for June, which is released at 7:15 AM. The Index grew more than anticipated in May on the back of higher oil prices.
So the closely watched Bank of England Monetary Policy Statement comes at 11. This will be the first statement since the Brexit vote, and traders are anticipating a rate cut. Moreover, markets will also be looking for reassurance the policy makers are up to the challenge.
The high importance weekly update on US Jobless Claims is out at 12:30 PM GMT. Initial claims went down by 16 thousand during the week ending July 2 whereas the continuing claims dropped by 44 thousand during the week ending June 25.
US Producer Price Index for June will be available at the same time. The US index has been rising for the past two month, and, once again, most of the gain comes from fuel prices.
And Canadian New Housing Price Index for May is due at this time as well. House prices grew in line with expectations in April, and the monthly gain was the strongest since October 2015.
I’m Lucy Palfreeman and these are the news releases to watch this Thursday. Check back in for the next overview of key events for Friday. See you then.
