Wednesday brings plenty of news releases for currency traders, so let’s find out more. This is the Economic Calendar.
Preliminary November PMIs from several Euro Zone countries are up first thing in the morning, starting with the French release at 8 AM. The German Index follows half an hour later, and the data for the entire Euro Zone will be available at 9. The Manufacturing PMI surprised on the upside in October as both German and French indices went up whereas the Services PMI came in weaker than expected.
Coming up next at 1:30 PM GMT are the closely watched US Durable Goods Orders for October. The number of orders saw a strong drop in September, suggesting business investment remains weak.
The high importance weekly update on US Jobless Claims is out at the same time. Initial claims dropped by 19 thousand during the week ending November 12, reaching their lowest level in four decades, whereas the continuing claims went down by 66 thousand during the week ending November 5, hitting a 16-year low.
US House Price Index for September follows at 2. Prices grew more than expected in August, following a half a percent gain the previous month.
US Preliminary Manufacturing PMI for November is out at 2:45. The Index rose to a 13-month high in October.
The final reading of University of Michigan November Consumer Confidence will be available at 3. The initial estimate suggests the Index has rebounded from the 14-month low it reached in October.
US New Home Sales for October are due at this time as well. Sales recovered in September, but the growth was still smaller than expected.
Federal Open Market Committee will release the closely watched Minutes of its November meeting at 7. The meeting did not bring the anticipated interest rate hike, so the Minutes could provide the reasoning behind the decision.
And Japanese Preliminary Manufacturing PMI for November concludes the schedule at half past midnight. The Index gained 1 point in October and now stands at its highest level in 10 months.
I’m ____ and you’ve been watching the Economic Calendar for Wednesday, the 23rd of November. Check back in for the next overview of news releases for Thursday. Goodbye.
