Monday is the Purchasing Managers Indices day, so let’s take a closer look with the Economic Calendar.
The first preliminary October Manufacturing PMI on the schedule is the Japanese one, which comes at half past midnight. The September Index surprised on the upside, moving in the positive territory for the first time in 7 months on the back of incrased overseas demand and new hiring.
The preliminary October PMIs from Euro Zone follow next, starting with the French data at 7. The German index comes half an hour later, and the data for the entire Euro zone is out at 8. Services PMI inched lower in September as stronger French data was reversed by a drop in Germany, whereas the manufacturing PMI surprised on the upside as both French and German indices went up.
Canadian Wholesale Trade for August is out at 12:30 PM GMT. Sales have been growing for the past 4 months, and car and food sectors are the top performers.
And the preliminary US Manufacturing PMI for October is up last at 1:45. The Index eased in September as growth in new orders slowed down.
I’m Celeste Skinner and you’ve been watching the Economic Calendar for Monday, the 24th of October. Check back in for the next overview of news releases for Tuesday. Goodbye.
